The thicker the plate, the higher the stakes. On a load-bearing component, a weld that does not fully penetrate can crack unseen, and welding heat left unmanaged twists the plate away from its drawing size.
We work heavy plate from cutting through assembly. Joint edges are bevelled for full-penetration welds, and the welding sequence is controlled to counter distortion, so components come out on-dimension and strong enough for their design load.
